The resort boasts panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's Waterpark attraction. The Rig 1938 is the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.
Job Description
Director of Information & Telecommunication
The Director of IT is responsible for managing all aspects of technology systems and IT infrastructure across all assets. This includes overseeing the installation, maintenance, and support of hardware, software, networks, and security systems. The role ensures that technology is optimized to enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency while maintaining cybersecurity and data protection standards.
- Develop and implement an IT strategy that aligns with the overall business goals, ensuring technology investments support long-term growth.
- Oversee all IT systems' installation, configuration, and maintenance, including property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, guest Wi-Fi, telecommunications, and back-office systems.
- Ensure that the networks and data are protected from cyber threats through the implementation of robust security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and regular audits.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely support for software, hardware, and network services.
- Lead and manage IT projects, including system upgrades, new technology rollouts, and infrastructure improvements.
- Recruit, train, and supervise IT staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support the hotel's technology needs.
- Ensure that technology enhances the guest experience, providing seamless services such as high-speed internet, in-room entertainment, and efficient booking and check-in/check-out processes.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology solutions and resource allocation.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in hotel technology and recommend innovations that can improve guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) are a plus.- Minimum 5-7 years of IT management experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, cybersecurity, server management, and software applications relevant to the hotel industry.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams, vendors, and complex projects.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of hotel staff and guests.
