JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Linum Consult’s client is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to review and approve the electrical designs of third party consultants for a significant infrastructure project in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing and approving all Electrical Designs submitted by the sub developers for the Wet Utilities works, including Potable Water, Storm Water, Drainage Networks, and Municipal-sized Pump Stations
- Liaising with the Mechanical Engineer to ensure the overall mechanical connected load and diversified loads do not exceed the allocated electrical loads
- Ensuring that all sub developer designs are in accordance with Kahramaa, Ashghal and Civil Defense codes, standards and specifications
- Implementing the project quality plan, quality procedures and productivity related to all sub developer electrical works submittals in accordance with the program of work on the project
- Assisting in defining the process for execution of engineering activities related to all types of electrical systems, and identifying the need for speciality assistance
- Providing technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters, designers and engineers working on the same project
- Providing regular reports on progress to the Head of Technical Engineering Services
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 8-10 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with a history of working with consultants/clients
- Technical design knowledge of ELV systems
- Preferably certified and registered with UPDA in Qatar
- Previous experience of working alongside Kahramaa
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
