Role overview

We are looking for an experienced interface & risk coordinator to support the execution of major oil & gas projects based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves managing complex technical interfaces and leading risk management activities across multi-disciplinary teams and project phases.

Qualifications

  • Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering from a recognized university (masteru2019s degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum 10 yearsu2019 experience in engineering, project management, and execution of major/mega oil & gas projects.
  • At least 7 years in project/interface management roles with direct involvement in large-scale project delivery.
  • Experienced in developing and leading project interface organizations.
  • Skilled in implementing industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex technical environments.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder coordination, communication, and issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

Interface management

  • Coordinate technical interfaces between contractors, engineering teams, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Manage interface issues across project phases and existing facilities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a technical interface management system (IMS) and control procedures.
  • Define interface objectives, strategies, and performance indicators to support safe, timely, and quality project delivery.
  • Track and report progress of interface action items.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority requirements and project specifications.
  • Monitor new scope boundaries and communicate gaps or issues that may impact project execution.
  • Lead interface coordination in complex onshore/offshore brownfield and greenfield environments.

Risk management

  • Develop and maintain a project-specific risk and opportunity management plan.
  • Create and manage a risk register, assigning owners, categorizing risks, and identifying mitigation actions.
  • Ensure contractorsu2019 top risks are captured and integrated into the overall risk register.
  • Facilitate quantitative risk analysis (QRA) reviews, build risk models, and generate contingency breakdown reports.
  • Chair monthly risk review sessions with project leadership and discipline heads.
  • Ensure compliance with company risk management procedures and controls.
  • Generate standardized reports (e.g., top 10 risks, risk matrix, open actions) for the project team.
  • Monitor effectiveness of risk treatments and ensure KPI targets for critical risk mitigation are met.

Project execution support

  • Support all phases of project execution including engineering, construction, installation, hookup, commissioning, start-up, and handover.
  • Independently manage interface and risk resolution to meet project objectives.
  • Resolve complex technical challenges across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
