Position: Junior Architect
Location: Msheireb, Doha, Qatar
Type: Full-Time Contract
Overview:
Studio Imara is seeking a talented and creative Junior Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative design concepts and exceptional architectural solutions. This role involves close collaboration with architects and engineers to ensure that designs align with client needs, project requirements, and industry standards.
Studio Imara is an architecture practice based in Qatar, specializing in spatial, building, and object design. Our work aims to propose alternative scales and environments within Qatar’s built and desert landscapes, collaborating with local builders and manufacturers to explore material potential.
Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Develop conceptual design schemes and proposals.
• Create 2D and 3D drawings and presentation for various projects.
• Collect and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites for measurements as needed.
• Prepare rough and detailed scale plans for buildings and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, specifications, and other data.
• Draft precise details of architecture, interiors, and landscapes.
• Ensure technical drawings adhere to local building codes and regulations.
• Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems to prepare concepts and presentation drawings.
• Support coordination efforts across sub-teams and consultants.
• Provide creative design solutions and innovative ideas for assigned tasks, conducting research and documentation to support these solutions.
• Contribute to project phases through detailed planning.
• Coordinate drawing requirements for planning processes with design offices and other project stakeholders/authorities.
• Independently organize and manage tasks within the given framework.
Requirements:
Education & Software Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools.
• Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
Required Skills:

• Strong presentation and drawing skills.
• Exceptional conceptual, design, and graphic abilities.
• Attention to detail and high quality in work output.
• Flexibility and ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Knowledge of building methods and materials.

• Experience in creating physical models.
• Strong research skills in design.
• Ability to maintain positive professional relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout all project phases.
• Experience contributing to medium-to-large-scale, complex design projects.
Experience:
• Architectural Draftsman: 5 years (required)
• Proven track record of working on projects of various types and scales.
License/Certification:
• Licensed architect in Qatar - Please include your MMUP-UPDA Certification and registration number in your CV.
