Job description

Designation: Senior piping designer

Key responsibilities:

• Perform piping engineering services such as:
• Participating in, and facilitating internal design reviews
• Independently handling development of plot plans, piping general arrangement drawings & sections, pipe support details etc.
• Preparation of isometrics
• Piping material take-off
• Checking of all kinds of piping drawings
• Strong knowledge of latest version of AutoCAD / CADWorx, 3D modelling software tools (like E3D, SP3D etc.) and clash detection / resolution
• Communicate effectively with the other discipline designers / engineers / project team
• Ensure completion of assigned work on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

Required skills:

• Degree / diploma in mechanical / piping or petroleum engineering from any reputable university
• Minimum experience of 5-10 years in oil and gas, petrochemical and/or refineries industries as a piping designer
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software particularly Excel and Word
• Familiarity with international codes and standards such as API, ANSI and ASME
• Flexible attitude, team player, with good written and verbal communication skills
• Required input and support to other disciplines such as process, civil, instrumentation, mechanical, electrical and HSE
• Proven experience in engineering design tools such as MicroStation / AutoCAD and Naviswork. Smartplant SP3D and AVEVA E3D experience will be an added advantage
