WSP is looking for Principal Architect for the Lusail Plaza Towers. Lusail Plaza lies at the heart of Lusail City. The Plaza District is defined by four iconic towers providing both a focus to the city and to the Plaza itself.
Reporting to the Design Manager, the Principal Architect is responsible for the design process and/or provision of high value technical expertise for relevant projects as assigned by the Project leadership.
• Plan, organise and support the management of all phases of architectural works and related technical support for the project’s design implementation, design reviews, design management.
• Review documents in various phases for design intent, material use and master plan intent.
• Conduct on-site observations and compliance checks.
• Oversee implementation of design in consultation with client/designer/contractor and other project discipline staff (Site Managers, Mechanical/Electrical/Structural/Civil Engineers and Planning staff).
• Review contract documentation, submittals and drawings and provide feedback to designer and/or contractor. Provide recommendations to client.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for all facets related to design implementation and construction. Ensure all documentation is coordinated through the project’s document control function.
• Preparation of presentations for Clients and other meetings as required.
REQUIREMENTS
• Possesses minimum 12 years overall experience including minimum 5 years similar experience & projects.
• Previous experience in completing design works during schematics
• Experience gained within a consultancy environment is highly regarded.
• Previous experience working on high rise buildings/ towers will be an advantage.
• Experience gained in the Middle East mainly Qatar and an understanding of its cultural heritage and business practices will be highly regarded.
• Tertiary qualifications in Architecture.
• Membership of a professional Architectural Association such as RIBA and AIA.
• Advanced proficiency in relevant software including Vector works, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and contemporary digital imagery software.
Able to conduct extensive review of Architectural Documents for potential conflict with all disciplines
• Demonstrated understanding of financial interpretation and budget/cost management.
• Demonstrated abilities in negotiation, representation and liaison with all Stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Mature relationship building skills.
• Experienced in preparation of reports and submissions with conceptual elements.
• Demonstrated financial acumen.
• Experience gained within a consultancy environment is highly regarded.
