Rixos Qetaifan Island North

Opening mid 2022, Rixos Doha Qetaifan will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sq m of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Slated to make its debut right before the World Cup, Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's waterpark attraction The Icon Tower, the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres in height.

Purchasing Manager- Waterpark

Under the general direction of Director Procurement and within the limits of established Rixos Hotel Policies and Procedures, oversees and directs the day-to-day Operation of the Waterpark Purchasing Department and maintains the overall efficiency of standards set. What you will be doing:

- To purchase all food and non-food items for operational needs.
- Knows the market and seeks constant information about changes (prices, products available, etc.)
- Knows all importing procedures, purchasing dispositions, and receiving procedures.
- Must purchase the best quality of goods available (according to the management) at the best price possible. If necessary, he/she involves the relevant Department in negotiations with suppliers.
- Compares quality and prices permanently between the suppliers.
- Maintains regular contact with his/her colleagues of other Rixos properties in the area for information exchange.
- Keeping of the filing cabinet with all information such as supplier, price, quantity, etc. constantly updated.
- Places only orders where a duly signed purchase request from the General Manager exists.
- Takes advice from the Executive Chef or other Department Heads in regard to quality and quantity.
- Samples of goods he/she has to pass to the involved departments.
- Works close together with the storekeeper and ensures store space of delivered goods and dispositions of goods (FIFO systems to adhere).
- Goes personally to the markets to be aware of shortages, recent price changes, and seasonal situations. (Market survey)
- Keeps the management constantly informed about all happenings in the market concerning the business?
- Is personally responsible that needed goods are delivered on time.
- Is not allowed to take any commissions, personal advantages, or gifts offered by any supplier.
- Submits ideas, alternatives, and new products to the management according to the company policy.
- Well awareness of Fire, Life, Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulations as they are related to materials management. And thorough with HACCP compliances.
- Ensures his/her team is thoroughly familiar with the Hotel's emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
- Coordination and information with the other related Department Heads.
- Maintains a monthly overview of vacation- and public holiday balance of all his/her staff and delivers a monthly consolidated summary to the Personnel Manager.
- He/she is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Quality Standards for his/her field of responsibility.
- Conducts skills/technical training within his/her area of responsibility on regular basis (on-the-job training).
