Railway Design Project Manager - Doha (m/f)

For our client, a leading international engineering consultancy firm with a strong footprint in the Middle East.

Our client is one of the leading international engineering consultancy firms. The company operates offices in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe and covers a wide range of engineering services and industries. These include amongst others Power and Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Coastal and Marine Engineering, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering and Transportation. Within the Transportation Sector our client has implemented numerous projects in the fields of road transportation, railway engineering and airports.

For a challenging metro project in Qatar, our client is currently searching for an experienced Rail Project Manager with extensive experience in the fields of track design and project management.

The position includes especially the following tasks:
- Establish and monitor the implementation of the Project Management Plan
- Provide overall advice/ guidance to the design team
- Ensure that the design team understands the project requirements and follows the Quality Assurance plan rigorously
- Ensure timely presence of the needed specialists as per project progress / as per clients request
- Establish regular liaison with stakeholders (authorities, services, client, etc.)
- Coordinate/ facilitate technical meetings with the client as well as the clients engineers
- Understand the clients needs as well as the project requirements and directly inform the design team
- Monitor and review project progress and deliverables to ensure that timescales and targets are met, risks are monitored and mitigated, and any KPIs set by the client are successfully attained
- Provide technical feedback on prepared deliverables

REQUIREMENTS

- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 20 years working experience in railway engineering with an emphasis on civil infrastructures
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines due to the fast-track nature of the project
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with clients
- Strong document-writing and reporting skills
- Knowledge in software such as ComplyPro, Doors, etc. would be preferable
- Knowledge in requirements management and risk management
