Key Responsibilities
- Review of daily force reports, verification of quantities installed and approval for the release of free issue materials to the contractor, initial review of contractor requests for information (RFI) and facilitating coordination meetings.
- Responsible for the day-to-day surveillance and inspection of construction activities within their discipline.
- Ensure timely reporting and assist in investigation of all HSE incidents on their jobs including identifying corrective actions to mitigate/eliminate hazards.
- Monitors construction progress and ensures labour, equipment and material resources are available and effectively used in accordance with construction plan.
- Responsible to coordinate sequential work activities between contractors (e.g. scaffolds).
- Compile, review and develop work packs in accordance with the implementation process, associated standards, specifications and procedures.
- Ensure that constructability is inherent within the design by being involved at the early stage of work scope and installation work pack compilation/development in accordance with company and project objectives.
- Provide construction input to Scope of Work/PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) document.
- Work closely with the construction superintendents to ensure that the contractors produce the required quality of work in line with the project's drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with the construction superintendents to ensure that the contractors understand and produce QC documentation and that it is generally handed over in the correct system priority. Produce reports on construction, QA/QC, pre-commissioning and turnover progress.
Quality Assurance
- Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
Safety
- Responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
- Competent in implementing HSE in the design process, focuses on process safety and strives to use best practice.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
- Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
Industry Specific Experience
- Solid experience in brown field oil and gas related projects.
- Must have vast experience in brown field oil and gas project delivery as Field Engineer/Construction Engineer in a multidiscipline workforce.
- Experience in productivity measurement, resource-based planning (Level 4 Scheduling).
