Engineering company based in Qatar looking for senior electrical engineer role
12 months secondment contract
5 days on / 2 days off / 8-10 hours per day
Responsibilities
Function as a senior point of contact for a project, fully responsible for all electrical discipline activities / deliverables for the project(s). Independently guide and supervise one or more electrical engineers or designers in the execution of the work.
Requirements
- BS. Eng. or equivalent electrical engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in a professional technical capacity involving specification, design and preparing, checking deliverables in oil and gas sectors (onshore and offshore).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering of brown field modifications to oil and gas or similar facilities which must include offshore.
- Shall be conversant with design calculations and electrical system study software ETAP.
- Familiarity with local and international standards IEC, NFPA, Shell Deps etc.
- GRADE A certified engineer from MMUP is an added advantage.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of industry practices, tools, codes, and standards as applicable to the discipline.
- Must possess a working knowledge of upstream and downstream oil & gas and/or petrochemical units and operating principles. Other industry specific knowledge may be acceptable on a location-by-location basis.
- Site construction and commissioning experience is an advantage.
