JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
• Prepare pump station electrical design.
• Coordinate / collaborate with other disciplines involved in pump stations or other MEP design
• Supervise or prepare design calculations as follows:
o Transformer sizing calculation.
o Lighting calculation.
o Cable sizingcalculation,n including voltage drop calculation.
o Capacitor Bank calculation.
o Generator sizing calculation.
o Lightning protection Calculation.
o UPS Sizing Calculation
o Battery Sizing Calculation.
o Short Circuit Calculation
o Earthing System Calculation
• Supervise or prepare design drawings as follows:
o Overall Electrical Site Layout Plan
o Power Supply layout
o Transformer Room -Plan & Section
o MV Room -Plan & Section
o MCC Room – Plan Section
o Diesel Generator Room - Plan & Section
o Internal Lighting Plan & Section
o External Lighting Plan & Section
o Street / Road Lighting- Plan & Section
o Small Power- Plan & Section
o Fire Alarm System -Plan & Section
o Fire Alarm Riser Diagram
o Earthing System –Plan & Section
o Lightning Protection System –Plan & Section
o Single Line Diagram
o Load Schedule
o Electrical Cable Schedule
o Power Cable Route – Plan & Section
o Generator Hook up Drawings & fuel system P&ID
o Cable Installation Details
• Supervise or prepare Infrastructure Electrical Network Drawings as per authority standard requirements
• Prepare design reports
• Prepare technical notes
• Prepare presentations toclients/stakeholderss
• Liaise with clientstakeholders’’ design reviewers to address comments and secure design approval.
• Provide updates to team lead or project manager on status ofthe design.
• Provide feedback on resource requirements on assigned tasks
Requirements:
• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at a reputable university recognized by MM Engineering Committee of Qatar.• Must have MM Engineering Committee registration. Grade A is preferred.
• Must have 15 years’ experience, 10 years in electrical infrastructure, i.e., pump stations, electrical networks (EHV/HV, MV, LV, ELV) and building services.
• Must be knowledgeable in the following design fields:
o Pump Station Electrical Design
o Electrical Network Design (EHV/HV). MV, LV
• Knowledge in the following is an advantage
o Qatar Construction Specifications – QCS 2014 or latest
o Latest Qatar Civil Defense regulation/standards
o Latest kahramaa regulation/standards
o Qatar Sewerage Drainage Design Manual
• Knowledge in the following software is preferable:
o AutoCAD
o Revit
o ETAP
o AGI 32
o Dialux
• Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
• Must be well versed in preparing calculations, associated reports, and technical notes on the above-mentioned design fields.
