Wood is actively seeking expressions of interest for the Senior I&C Engineer role to support future growth in our expanding business. The projects team focuses on delivering across FEED, Pre-FEED, Brownfield, and Greenfield scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or project procedures on safety and quality control within the man-hour, cost, and project schedule targets.

This is a long-term assignment based in Qatar.

Responsibilities

The Senior I&C Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Executing assigned scopes of work.
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business.
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to the team.
  • Using technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables, including complex problems. Completes almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction. May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with small to medium complexity.
  • Performing engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Selecting engineering techniques to solve problems and making design recommendations.
  • Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments having scope for coordination of difficult tasks.
  • Applying specific area(s) of expertise in own discipline area.
  • In consultancy businesses, may review and manage complex projects within area of expertise or of a multidisciplinary nature.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • ISCED Level 6 Bachelor's (minimum) or Level 7 Master's (preferred) degree in engineering discipline; alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence.
    • Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution preferred.
  • Minimum Experience:
    • Requires mature professional knowledge and extensive progressive experience in general engineering.
    • Typically requires 15 years progressively more responsible pertinent experience; developing his/her area, and knowledgeable about impacts on other areas.

Role-Specific Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating, and mentoring professional engineering specialists.
  • Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during the course of performing assignments.
  • Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates.
  • Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes, and procedures and how they are used in work execution.
  • Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
