Execution of mechanical maintenance activities and assigned projects on time and within budget with overall operational cost control.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Safety, Health, Quality ,Environment:
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area to guarantee employee safety, HR compliance, delivery of high quality products / services and a responsible environmental manner.

Maintenance Strategy:
- As a senior member of the Maintenance Department, contribute to the formulation and implementation of the Maintenance strategy and plans to maximise the plant equipment availability and minimise equipment breakdown.

Section Management:
- Support Maintenance Supervisors in their the day-to-day activities by providing Engineering solutions and to ensure that work processes are implemented as per standards and procedures.

Shutdowns and Turnarounds:
- Assist in managing the planning, organisation and implementation of ORYX GTLs shutdowns, turnarounds and emergencies as required.

Plant Maintenance:
- Assist in managing the troubleshooting of problems as required in order to avoid major escalations at any given instance.
- Assist in managing the Mechanical maintenance works on ORYX GTLs assets as required to ensure minimum disruptions with regard to machine / Mechanical breakdowns.
- Ensure all Statutory inspections on Safety devices and Pressurised equipments are done in line with the Maintenance Strategies.

Integrity of Mechanical Equipment:
- Assist in managing and ensuring the availability of necessary Materials, Spares and External Services in order to execute tasks in an effective manner.
- Reliability Improvement: Execute reliability
- Provide technical advice to management on new / old projects on selection of new / old equipment, layout of the equipment and maintainability of equipment in order to ensure management remains abreast with related departmental functions / works.
- People Management

Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Ensure compilation of Mechanical Management of Change requests so as to assist management during their decision making process.
- Liaise with licensors to improve equipment reliability
