Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Materials & Corrosion)

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering
• Chartered engineer / professional engineer status or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years relevant postgraduate experience, including at least 6 years within the oil & gas industry
• Strong capability to identify and apply relevant engineering standards and codes related to materials & corrosion engineering
• Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality across engineering projects in a multi-project environment
• Good communication and presentation skills with full professional fluency in English

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Provide technical design and engineering services in materials & corrosion engineering for assigned engineering projects, ensuring technical quality in line with applicable procedures while considering quality, schedule, cost, and HSE requirements
• Conduct materials & corrosion engineering activities and in-house/site surveys across all project phases, from initial concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning
• Ensure that applicable technical assurance practices, engineering standards, and environmental and safety policies are incorporated into work scopes and adhered to during materials & corrosion engineering activities
• Review technical deviations and variations against approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices
• Support the engineering department in reviewing, updating, and applying internal standards and amendments to external standards
• Plan and coordinate activities of multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of technical services in line with project requirements
• Coordinate engineering designs and develop/review multi-disciplinary work scopes to ensure completeness and clarity
• Review and approve method statements developed by contractors for scope compliance and liaise with contractors to resolve technical issues
• Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities and contribute to FEED / EPIC scheduling and effective project execution
• Conduct technical bid evaluations to ensure scope compliance
• Review and evaluate contract changes and variations against approved guidelines and practices
• Support the development of personal technical competency and that of colleagues, including participation in structured training for junior engineers
