Senior System Analyst

About the opportunity

We are seeking a skilled senior systems analyst to join the IT operations team of a leading energy-sector organisation. This role is focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT solutions that enhance efficiency, security, and reliability across enterprise systems. You will play a key part in systems analysis, solution deployment, and compliance support while providing technical leadership to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT solutions across infrastructure, security, and business systems.
• Evaluate, configure, and deploy systems to ensure high availability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee patch management, vulnerability analysis, and security updates across Windows and non-Windows platforms.
• Administer and support IT infrastructure including virtualization, backup and storage, web proxy, active directory, collaboration tools, MFA, and SSO.
• Manage NetBackup solutions and related backup operations.
• Supervise and guide a small technical team, ensuring effective task allocation and performance.
• Support audits and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to regulatory and security standards.
• Prepare reports and documentation, presenting technical information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and subject matter experts to implement IT solutions.
• Participate in safety and quality initiatives, reporting incidents and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Contribute to workforce development by supporting training and mentoring initiatives.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related discipline (master's in cyber/information security preferred).
• 5 to 7 years' professional experience in technical systems, including Windows Server, VMware, backup solutions, and security configuration.
• Strong background in IT infrastructure and system-side networking operations.
• Proven experience supervising technical teams.
• Expertise in Microsoft 365, SCCM, active directory, server hardware, storage systems, and cloud computing.
• Administrative expertise in system web proxy and NetBackup solutions.
• Project management experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred certifications (two or more):

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) or equivalent

Language

• English: Proficient (required)
• Arabic: Working knowledge (preferred)
