JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Linum Consult’s client is currently seeking a Testing & Commissioning Manager specialised in large industrial or infrastructure projects for a large development in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing direction and management of all the related issues for testing and commissioning in accordance with contractual obligations
- Planning, organising and supervising the work of the team members to ensure all work is performed within the parameters of the project schedule
- Reviewing the testing and commissioning plans submitted by contractors to ensure compliance with the operational requirements of the project
- Developing, in cooperation with the utility providers, consultants and the contractor, overall procedures with respect to testing of all aspects of the project, including but not limited to: major mechanical and electrical systems as well as pump stations, electrical substations, sewage treatment plants, etc.
- Providing input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates
- Liaising with the civil engineering team in the office for engineering support and control
- Working with other managers, project engineers and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of the project, ensuring that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans
- Coordinating with local authorities and third parties related to all necessary testing and commissioning requirements for the project
- Attending final inspections on completed projects; initiating ‘Contract Completion Certificates’ and ‘Handover Certificates’ after checking back-punch list items have been cleared by the contractor in order to complete and submit the project documentation dossier
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- At least 20 years’ experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years at a management level on large-scale development projects
- Strong background of managing the testing and commissioning of large infrastructure projects, with experience of working on substations, pump station projects, waste water projects, district cooling plants or other systems, such as SCADA Systems
- Previous history of working in GCC countries
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
