Role: Wellhead operations specialist (Qatar-based | offshore support)

Work location: Qatar

Job purpose

Provide technical expertise in well operations, well integrity, well maintenance, and well repair activities, including deficiency analysis to ensure safe, reliable and efficient well operations in alignment with company’s QGMS deliverables.

Key responsibilities

1. Well operations & integrity
   • Lead and coordinate well maintenance, well integrity testing, and well repair operations to ensure reliability and compliance.
   • Develop and maintain well operations & maintenance (O&M) strategies aligned with production targets, integrity expectations, and QGMS.
   • Ensure adherence to well integrity requirements, including SCP management, leak-off testing, annulus pressure monitoring, and wellhead/Xmas tree maintenance.
2. Operational support for offshore assets
   • Work closely with offshore operations teams (NFB & RGA) to support safe and efficient execution of well activities.
   • Provide technical support to offshore teams, contractors, and OEM vendors for well related operations.
   • Ensure all well operations are executed following approved procedures and safety standards.
3. Emergency response & troubleshooting
   • Respond to well operational emergencies (pressure anomalies, mechanical failures, integrity issues) to minimize safety and financial impact.
   • Lead root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for well integrity or operational deviations.
4. Technical evaluation & continuous improvement
   • Review and evaluate OEM and SME technical reports and assess opportunities for improvement and optimization.
   • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing work processes, maintenance practices, and efficiency.
   • Support internal and external audits related to well operations and integrity management.
5. Work program planning
   • Scope, prepare, and review work programs for non-routine or high-risk well activities.
   • Participate in planning for well interventions, new wells integration, and expansion project tie-ins.
   • Interface with planning, maintenance, projects, engineering, and drilling to ensure proper alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (petroleum, mechanical, chemical, or related field).
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in rig-less well work operations in the oil and/or gas industry.
• At least 3 years’ experience in rig-assisted well work operations (offshore or onshore).
• Strong understanding of:
  • Well integrity management
  • Wellhead & Xmas tree operations
  • Sustained casing pressure management
  • Leak-off testing
  • Cased-hole logging & production logging
  • Subsurface and surface well equipment

Skills & competencies

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
• Ability to lead teams and manage contractors/vendors.
• Deep knowledge of offshore well operations, integrity, and maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Commitment to high HSE standards and operational discipline.
