Overview

Saudi Aramco seeks for an Artificial Lift Specialist with emphasis in Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs) and Gas Lift applications, to work with the Production and Facilities Production Department under the Petroleum Engineering & Development Admin Area.

The Artificial Lift specialist will lead Artificial Lift related projects including the design, installation, function testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning. The specialist overall responsibility will be improving artificial lift performance through operations and failure analysis continuous improvement. The Artificial Lift Engineer will also work with other engineering disciplines (Workover, Drilling, Reservoir, Production, and Project construction) to ensure timely equipment delivery, optimum installation and design, and efficient operations towards reduced failures. The specialist will ensure reducing overall field operating costs by designing equipment at best efficiencies and proper frequency to minimize electrical power requirements. The specialist will lead group of engineers in specific tasks and studies, participate in company engineering standard review, and the development of young professionals. The specialist will also participate in new tender Technical and Commercial evaluations

Key Responsibilities

You are expected to be able to perform the following:
- Review, Optimize, and approve Artificial Lift designs
- Attend on-site Artificial Lift applications installations and function tests to ensure vendors follow company established procedures and industry best practices
- Attend DIFA and implement corrective actions
- Patriciate in Tender commercial and technical evaluations
- Introduce and review Artificial lift technologies to enhance runlife of applications installed in severe downhole conditions
- Establish, implement, and monitor Artificial Lift KPIs
- Ensure all artificial lift working procedures are in place and periodically reviewed
- Interface primarily with internal and external entities to ensure timely delivery of surface and subsurface equipment
- Manage contracts and service orders of artificial lift systems
- Support field staff and operation engineers in problematic well troubleshooting
- Ensure Monthly Service Quality Meetings are held and follow-up actions properly executed

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

The specialist should hold a bachelor degree from a recognized and approved program in engineering specialties. MSc is desirable, but not required

Minimum of 10 years experience in artificial lift (mainly ESP or gas lift), including a minimum of 5 years of direct ESP project management related work. Within the 10 years required experience, the engineer must have at least 5 years of experience working with major ESP providers. It also required that applicant is well versed with standard and smart downhole well completions

The specialist shall have extensive experience in ESP and/or gas lift applications. This experience shall include artificial lift application design, on-site installation procedure, performance monitoring and analysis, ability to recommend corrective actions. Further, the specialist shall be capable to perform ESP DIFA and failure mitigation measures. It is also preferred that the specialist have good experience in ESP surface equipment applications. The specialist will be responsible to evaluate new artificial lift related technologies while ensuring compliance to company well control guidelines

The specialist shall accept and understand the nature of Artificial Lift/ESP work in Saudi Aramco. The job will include commuting to relatively far fields- and stay for extended periods when necessary- to perform ESP/gas lift installation, function testing pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting. This applies to onshore and offshore fields. Saudi Aramco will provide required transportation and housing
