Job description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled barista to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our coffee shop, you will be responsible for creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers while maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and specialty coffees
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for every guest
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in managing inventory and placing orders for coffee beans and supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Stay updated on coffee trends and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills
- Educate customers about different coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles
- Assist in opening and closing procedures of the coffee shop
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a food and beverage role, preferably as a barista
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso-based drinks and alternative brewing methods
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency in operating POS systems and handling cash transactions
- Basic math skills for inventory management and cash handling
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and initiative
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Basic Arabic language skills preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
