JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
• All aspects related to the business development activity of Energy storage systems
• Key areas: Off-grid systems, utility-scale energy storage
• Key Geography: Saudi Arabia, other GCC countries, Jordan, Egypt.
• Possible expansion of EPC activities in Sub-Saharan Africa and emerging Asia
• Perform and manage research to identify and prioritize potential customers and projects.
• Prepare and execute business development action plans for the specific target market and projects
• Supervise the development of brochure materials as directed by operation managers
• Directly manage proposals and presentations (including prequalification, direct offers, and tenders)
• Train and assist any eventual project personnel committed in proposals.
• Meet customer's needs prior to contract execution.
• Provide advice, liaison, and planning to prospective and current customers.
• Assist with and coordinate estimating and/or budgeting activities with the sales process and final close of the sale.
• Provide budgeting assistance to customers as required.
• Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
• Collaborate in the planning, preparation, and attendance of the company to commercial events
• Collaborate in the creation of local marketing materials and advertising
• Attend professional societies and become involved
• Use and effectively maintain the reporting tools and maintain the data up to date in the company systems
REQUIREMENTS
• Preferable engineering background with sound experience in business development
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development with significant exposure to solar and storage industry
• Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience
• Must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written- to produce highly professional proposals and presentations
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
• Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
• Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
• Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
• Experience working with Utility-scale Developers/IPPs (Independent Power Producers)/Owners to secure awards to build large Storage Systems projects across the key geographies
• A working knowledge of the design, componentry and specifications for off-grid solar systems and storage solutions
• Understands the primary financial drivers required to make a project successful for Developers/IPPS/Owners
• Has experience working through the technical and contractual exhibits alignment with client for awarded projects
• Coming from energy / renewable / storage Industry
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi and GCC markets
• Languages: Arabic, English, French (optional)
