Chief Financial Officer – Saudi Arabia

Our client, a leading Tier 1 general contracting firm with regional MENA operations, has secured numerous key commercial building projects and due to a corporate restructure, now seeks to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to their MENA operation in a leadership role and to meet “world” standards. This role is accountable for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company for the MENA region. This includes to financially control and manage the financial functions of the firm and streamline the firm’s respective financial performance and processes plus restructure balance sheets and provide strategic financial advisory to the Board of Directors and Executive Team.

Reporting to the CEO and managing a large finance staff, the proven performer we seek for this pivotal role will be responsible for the following:
- Development and successful implementation of internal control procedures, financial policies, internal audit systems, management reporting systems across the group of companies.
- Direct, lead and performance manage the financials of the firm including the management of a multi-cultural finance and accounting team.
- Strategic financial modelling, budgeting, valuations, due diligence and financial / business advisory across the group including mergers and acquisitions.
- Debt resourcing and restructuring and to be familiar with various banking financial facilities and structures.
- Working capital management, cost reductions and restructuring exercises.
- Management of the accounting and financial day to day activities including statutory audits and compliance.
- Preparation and presentation of reports at Board level.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and budgetary reporting requirements.
- Ensure record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
- Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
- Establish and implement short and long range financial goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Review of strategic and operational plans in conjunction with the CEO and Executive Team.
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems as well as maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor Degree in in Accounting or Business Administration is essential with a MBA being highly regarded. Candidates qualified as a CFA, CMA., CPA or Chartered are highly desirable.
- Candidates must be Saudi Nationals.
- A minimum of 10+ years’ experience with a major company or division of a large corporation within the construction industry is essential.
- Must have experience partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Our client seeks a strategic thinker who is dynamic with high energy levels.
- Candidates must be prepared to undergo extensive travel across the MENA region.
