Contract advisor package 2 services

We are looking for a contract advisor package 2 services for one of our clients with the following details:

Start date: ASAP
Contract duration: 12 months (renewable)
Location: Jubail / KSA

Qualifications & experience required

Degree qualified with a professional contracts and procurement background and prior commercial experience

  • Refining and petrochemicals technologies
  • Languages: good oral and written communication abilities and writing skills in English
  • At least 10 to 15 years' experience in oil & gas industries
  • Experience within project:
  • Experience in projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia / Middle East
  • Experience in EPCC phase of large projects
  • Experience in negotiating contracts on behalf of operators, contractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Ability to liaise at all organizational levels and represent the project on contract-related matters
  • Experience with multinational and multicultural task force team environment
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental aspects of major construction projects
  • Ability to adapt to changes and to work in an international multicultural project environment, coping in a positive and productive manner within an intensive environment
  • Interpersonal skills, rigor, and analytical mind
  • Ability to work as a member of a project team, to liaise, coordinate, and positively communicate with involved parties including contractors, project entities, auditors, other discipline representatives, experts, project people, and PMT EPCC packages
  • Activities

  • Ensure that the implementation of contractor HSSE practices is realized and in accordance with requirements laid down by the package manager
  • Deliver robust contract management with hands-on implementation and support to the package
  • Monitor contract and contractor performance and assess the effectiveness and application of the contracts
  • Prepare and administer contract correspondence with contractors, in line with the package manager
  • Prepare amendments to contracts for project services manager and project director approval
  • Deliver and manage contracts and cost management/value improvement targets
  • Study all justifications given by contractors for any extra work orders or claim requests
  • Prepare any notice of default for approval by project services/package manager
  • Prepare any liquidated damages applications
  • Initiate the contractors' performance evaluation document
  • Inform project control about any action, facts, or decisions which could be the basis for contractor's potential claim
  • Follow up on contractor's change orders or claims, preparing claim defense strategy and documents, and preparing systematic answers to contractors' correspondence claim-wise oriented
  • Verify the final financial statement with support of the package manager for the final completion certificates validation before presenting to the project services manager and project director for their review and approval
  • Maintain and develop contracting knowledge, REX, and market knowledge on contracting execution
  • Prepare the handover to operations
