Design Architect (Permits/Authorities Coordinator)
Job Summary
The Design Architect (Permits/Authorities Coordinator) plays a key role in managing and coordinating the permitting and regulatory compliance aspects of architectural projects. This position involves working closely with project teams to ensure that all designs meet the requirements of clients, local authorities, and relevant architectural standards. The role includes acting as the primary liaison for permits and approvals, ensuring the smooth progression of projects through various stages of regulatory compliance. The Design Architect will also represent the firm in interactions with authorities and support other team members with their expertise.
Responsibilities
Client Relations Support:
• Assist the Department Manager with managing client relationships and addressing expectations as needed.
Regulatory Coordination:
• Act as the main point of contact for coordinating with various authorities to ensure compliance with regulations and obtain the necessary approvals.
• Prepare and submit permitting packages, review technical drawings for regulatory compliance, issue permits, and manage all related documentation.
Liaison with Authorities:
• Serve as the liaison with governmental entities to facilitate approvals and resolve any regulatory concerns.
• Collaborate closely with sub-consultants to secure GDCD (General Directorate of Civil Defence) approvals and ensure comprehensive project compliance.
Project Compliance Management:
• Oversee project adherence to regulatory requirements and manage the smooth progression through different approval stages.
Support for Project Management:
• Assist Project Managers with client presentations, workshops, and responding to client clarifications and technical issues as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction with design deliverables.
Design and Review Support:
• Participate in discussions with clients to determine design criteria, including budgets and preferences.
• Review design deliverables with senior project team members and implement revisions based on reviews and feedback.
• Support Senior Architects with design value engineering activities and assist with the review and validation of design deliverables.
Requirements:
Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
• Chartered or Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred
• Saudi Nationals are preferable
Skills
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
Experience
• Three to Five years of experience in architecture with a top-tier regional or multinational engineering consultancy firm.
• Familiarity with global best practices and trends in architectural design.
