JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

In this role you will be able to conceptualize and implement strategic ideas while also overseeing day-to-day operational aspects of communication initiatives.

Client Details

My client, a public sector organization is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Strategic Communications and PR.

Description

* Develop and implement comprehensive strategic communication plans to support the company's objectives and enhance its reputation.
* Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of communication strategies across all channels and platforms.
* Conduct research and analysis to identify key communication opportunities and challenges, and develop insights-driven strategies accordingly.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for media relations, cultivating relationships with journalists and proactively pitching stories to secure positive coverage.
* Oversee the creation of compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, articles, social media posts, and website content.
* Manage crisis communication strategies and responses, working closely with senior leadership to mitigate reputational risks.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, marketing, and human resources, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of communication efforts.

REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
* 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or related field, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
* Demonstrated experience in media relations, including pitching stories and managing media inquiries.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
