Position Description

We are seeking a highly competent Diver, with Offshore Diving Qualification HSE Part 1 and IMCA Diving Supervisor Certification to work for the Marine Department.

The Diver is responsible for surveying underwater installations, ships' bottoms, drilling rigs, and platforms to determine necessary repairs.
The Diver will perform underwater work, which requires the skills of a welder, pipefitter, rigger and mechanic.
The Diver will also perform underwater surveillance, which requires the ability to operate inspection equipment and instruments, television equipment, underwater cameras, and to create sketches.
In addition, the Diver will inspect, maintain and repair diving equipment.

The work schedule will be 42/21 work/vacation relief with company paid travel and vacation.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Define scope of work to be accomplished.
- Ensure a first-class work standard is delivered for the type of job performed and deliver the estimated work duration to the home department.
- Dive to inspect in-progress and completed work for compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Work Scope requirements.
- Supervise compliance of the diving work with Saudi Aramco or recognized authorities' safety and loss prevention instructions at Saudi Aramco installations above or below water, including safety equipment as well as required work permits.
- Report daily work progress to the Marine Underwater Inspection & Repair Unit Supervisor or Senior Diving Inspector, against the Work Standard and set expectations.
- Critique and report job completion defining problem areas with recommendations for improvement.
- Liaison with the Saudi Aramco User Departments regarding confirmation of engineering, piping, cathodic protection, corrosion control methods and inspection standards to ensure that correct procedures are followed and that questionable findings are highlighted.
- Use the Engineering Library as a source for drawings prior to performance of diving work.
- Report specific job related performance of contract and Saudi Aramco divers after the completion of each diving assignment. Recommend areas for development of the individual and comment on strengths, which can be utilized to improve job times.
- Train other divers in fields required to become Diving Inspectors as outlined in this job description.
- Develop methods, techniques, equipment, special tools, and devices necessary for performance of a difficult diving job.
- Prepare a hazardous repair procedure and train divers in dry runs as necessary prior to any unusual or hazardous repair.
- Conduct Diving Contractor on-hire and interim inspections of personnel and equipment.
- Conduct Saudi Aramco Marine Department vessel inspections and audited drills onboard diving support vessels.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

- As the successful candidate, you will hold an Offshore Diving Qualification HSE Part 1 or IMCA equivalent.
- An IMCA Diving Supervisor Certification is required.
- You will have competent knowledge in U.S. Navy Decompression Procedures.
- You will have a minimum of ten years of experience in offshore diving and two years of which as a Diving Supervisor.
- You possess a valid Offshore Diving Medical and Basic First Aid Certificates recognized by IMCA or Saudi Aramco.
- You possess excellent oral and written English language skills as well as being computer literate.
