Overview

We are seeking an experienced Drilling Engineer with extensive industry experience in all aspects of drilling engineering to join the Upstream Professional Development Center (UPDC) to work with business line SMEs to develop and deliver training courses to Saudi Aramco drilling engineers. The position requires experience in mentoring and training other professionals in drilling engineering.

You will work within a team of technical advisors with broad experiences and specialties covering all Upstream disciplines to develop and deliver a wide range of professional development programs targeting Saudi Aramco Upstream professionals of all experience levels.

Although the primary role will be to develop and deliver Drilling Engineering training programs, you will also work closely with UPDC technical advisors from other disciplines including geophysicists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, petrophysicists, and unconventional resources, in the development of multidisciplinary training programs.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Enhance the UPDC Drilling Engineering (DE) curricula for early career, mid-career and senior professionals

Develop technical content including but not limited to: Existing DE-catalog curriculum, new courses, and virtual delivery courses as needed

Participate in delivery of upstream professional on boarding program and DE job family introductory course. Additionally, DE technical advisors must contribute to delivery of DE curriculum courses per area of expertise.

Maintain DE job family administrative duties including: developing course schedules each year, working with training coordinators to enroll participants, meet with technical experts from the organization to establish curriculum, and work with contracting department to source industry experts from outside to deliver vendor courses.

Collect and analyze post-course feedback to improve content for future offerings

Periodically evaluate course quality and instructor effectiveness, especially courses developed and delivered by external vendors by observing the course delivery

Innovate, create, and share new approaches in training or technical advancement through local and international forums.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar. Other engineering or science degrees with extensive experience in Drilling operations will also be considered.

You must have at least 20 years of industry experience in drilling engineering projects and operations that includes 15 years or more of recent active technical roles.

You should have a working knowledge of a wide range of drilling disciplines/topics such as exploration (prospect and play generation), reservoir development and characterization, sedimentology and stratigraphy, structural geology, and petroleum system analysis. Specializations in sub disciplines are advantageous.

You must have experience in training, mentoring, coaching, and development of training programs for Drilling Engineering or similar.
