Drilling Rig Foreman

Description

Eram Talent, a division of the ERAM Group, is in search of an experienced drilling rig foreman to join our dynamic team. The candidate's primary role will be to supervise field operations of land drilling and workover rigs, engaged in carrying programmed work on deep or otherwise critical wells. Supervises and oversees the operations of a contract rig performing drilling or remedial work on wells ranging from 18,000–23,000 feet.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all rig personnel and service providers are complying with the client's safety standards and requirements.
• Supervise and oversee all operations performed on wells.
• Make recommendations on alternative methods or equipment when unusual situations are encountered.
• Coordinate deliveries of materials to the well to ensure they are available when required.
• Ensure that the contractor meets all requirements of the contract.
• Work with drilling and workover engineers to ensure that modern drilling practices are followed.
• Approve contractor daily tour reports.
• Ensure that contractor rig and equipment are properly maintained to avoid downtime.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the superintendent.
• Ensure that blowout prevention standards are met in all respects including equipment configuration, testing, and crew response.
• Assure that rig and personnel comply with the client's established safety standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Thirteen (13) years relevant experience in drilling and workover operations including supervisory experience generally acquired by progression on a drilling or workover rig
• Or a B.S. degree in engineering with seven (7) years of experience working in drilling and workover operations including adequate supervisory experience on a drilling or workover rig.
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in challenging conditions and remote locations
• Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges
