Drilling Rig Foreman

Eram Talent is seeking a drilling foreman to join our unconventional resources drilling department (URDD). The candidate's primary role will be to supervise field operations of land drilling and workover rigs, engaged in carrying programmed work on deep or otherwise critical wells.

Supervises and oversees the operations of a contract rig performing drilling or remedial work on wells ranging from 18,000 to 23,000 feet. The incumbent will ensure that the contractor performs the work in a safe and acceptable manner, and that the contractor meets all the obligations of their contract. Coordinates deliveries of well materials and equipment and ensures it is available when the rig is ready for it.

The drilling rig foreman administers the contracts on site and serves as the primary liaison between the company and the contractor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all rig personnel and service providers are complying with Saudi Aramco safety standards and requirements.
• Supervise and oversee all operations performed on wells.
• Make recommendations on alternative methods or equipment when unusual situations are encountered.
• Coordinate deliveries of materials to the well to ensure availability when required.
• Ensure that the contractor meets all requirements of their contract.
• Work with drilling and workover engineers to ensure that modern drilling practices are followed.
• Approve contractor daily tour reports.
• Ensure that contractor rig and equipment are properly maintained to avoid downtime.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by superintendent.
• Ensure that Saudi Aramco blowout prevention standards are met in all respects including equipment configuration, testing, and crew response.
• Assure that rig and personnel comply with Saudi Aramco established safety standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience working in drilling and workover operations including adequate supervisory experience on a drilling or workover rig.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and safety measures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make quick decisions.
• Willingness to work in remote locations and harsh weather conditions.
