Overview

The Environmental engineer will mainly focus on coordinating several environmental activities at Southern Area Oil Operations including target setting for flaring and SO2 emissions, overseeing submittal of environmental data, ensuring proper and robust GHG emissions program and following up on water consumption, waste management, providing critical review to environmental standards and procedures, as well as maintaining environmental health issues

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out site assessments

Conducting technical audits

Evaluating environmental impact

Making recommendations on clean-up, reclamation and waste management activities

Assessing how a site complies with environmental regulations

Using mathematical techniques and computer modelling to assess or forecast past, present and future environmental problems

Designing, developing, testing and implementing technical solutions which will help organizations actively reduce their negative impact on the environment

Interpreting data

Keeping abreast of legislative changes in environmental law

Identifying potential contaminant sources

Obtaining and maintaining plans, permits and standard operating procedures

Researching available new technologies and work with departments to fund and pilot test them in the facilities

Working with Engineering Services and the operating departments on means to improve environment performance and reduce

Presenting status and results of various studies and initiatives to senior management that is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environment engineering, MS is preferred

Experience with EMS and Air Quality and Meteorology

Experience with Solid & Hazardous Waste Management

Strong background in Groundwater Protection and WASTEWATER and Industrial Hygiene

Ability to propose and deploy digital technologies/solutions and innovative ideas to enhance Environment performance

Strong communication skills, planning and organization, problem solving and decision making

Capable of presenting Clearly and Effectively to Senior Management

Minimum of 8 years' experience in Oil & Gas industry operating facilities

Recommended to have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or (F.E.)

Knowledge of industry standards and best practices

Preferred to have membership with internationally recognized technical societies

Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in Environmental assessments, studies, investigations, analysis, and optimization, producing detailed reports and developing sound technical analysis
