Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and innovative Executive Pastry Chef to join our luxury hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As the leader of our pastry department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pastry and dessert production, menu development, and team management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and leadership skills in a dynamic, high-end environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the pastry department, ensuring the highest standards of quality, creativity, and efficiency in all pastry and dessert offerings.
  • Develop and implement innovative pastry menus for restaurants, banquets, and special events, keeping up with current trends and guest preferences.
  • Oversee the production and presentation of all pastry items, including breads, desserts, and confections.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other department heads to ensure seamless culinary operations.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise the pastry team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manage inventory, cost control, and budgeting for the pastry department.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Participate in menu tastings, food presentations, and culinary events to showcase the hotel's pastry offerings.
  • Stay current with industry trends and introduce new techniques and recipes to enhance the guest experience.
  • Handle guest inquiries and special requests, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional pastry training.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in luxury hotels or high-end restaurants, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced knowledge of pastry techniques, chocolate work, and sugar artistry.
  • Proven track record in menu development, cost control, and inventory management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and culinary management software.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Passion for creating exceptional dessert experiences and staying current with pastry trends.
