Facultative reinsurance operations officer

As a Facultative Reinsurance Operations Officer you will support Marsh's value proposition by handling facultative contract processing and administration, working closely with brokers, compliance, and internal support teams across the region.

Key responsibilities

  • Process facultative contracts and documentation in line with established process guidelines.
  • Review risk details in contracts: verify risk information, deductions, markets and settlement due dates.
  • Review and analyse Premium Computation Sheets (PCS) and other documents from the Broker Support team.
  • Enter accurate risk data from slips into OpenTWINS based on contract, broker correspondence and related documentation.
  • Liaise with Broker Support to resolve discrepancies on slips, signed shares and PCS; request Letter of Authority (LOA) for MGAs when required.
  • Coordinate with Compliance for Bridger checks and sanctions screening where needed.
  • Submit verified information to the CSS team for transaction creation after first checks and sign-down in OpenTWINS.
  • Download and archive closings from the DMS to shared folders following CSS review.
  • Maintain and follow up on queries with internal teams to ensure timely risk load-up.
  • Make amendments to risks when notified by Broker Support and maintain records of all risks and their real-time status.
  • Ensure accurate booking and reporting of accounting items related to facultative reinsurance transactions.
  • Manage and update the Reinsurance Accounting Management Tool (IT structure) for reinsurance activities.
  • Support correct establishment of reinsurance technical and financial accounts and timely reporting to maintain reinsurer relationships.

Qualifications & experience required

  • 3-5 years' experience in underwriting and reinsurance within general insurance (Marine, Fire, A&H, Miscellaneous).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables), PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.

Preferred

  • Technical certifications such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or IFCE.
