Job Purpose

The Lab Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating material testing activities to ensure compliance with company quality standards. This role includes overseeing material receiving, testing, and concrete order verification while managing lab technicians and helpers for efficient work execution.

Key Accountability Areas

1. Work Deployment
   • Delegate tasks to technicians and helpers as directed by the QC Laboratory Senior Engineer/In-Charge.
   • Assign serial numbers as references for produced products during processing for reporting and documentation (internal/external use).
   • Supervise the demolding process for prestressed elements before release and cutting.
   • Instruct technicians to conduct compressive strength tests (7 and 28 days or as per client requirements).
   • Ensure proper marking of sample specimens.
   • Guide technicians in preparing materials for concrete trial mixes as per project needs and continuous improvement requirements.
2. Concrete Order Verification
   • Approve and confirm concrete orders for the batch plant to ensure alignment with the approved concrete mix design.
3. Material Receiving
   • Review supplier delivery documents against purchase orders.
   • Log materials into the system upon acceptance.
4. Material Testing
   • Oversee material testing for internal quality assurance, including:
   • Sieve analysis
   • Clay lumps
   • Sand equivalent
   • L.A. Abrasion
   • Specific gravity and absorption

Role Accountability

• Perform and supervise material testing, concrete order verification, and material receiving processes.
• Ensure all testing activities meet company standards and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate test records and material inspection documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams to improve lab operations and testing procedures.

Academic Qualification

• Diploma degree in any relevant field.

Work Experience

• 5 to 10 years.
