Overview

We are seeking senior Petroleum Engineer (Gas Lift Specialist) to join the Production Engineering Technical Support Division, under the Northern Area Production Engineering Department.

Saudi Aramco offers experienced engineers the opportunity to develop and manage world-class fields. We are looking for highly skilled professionals to join us at our Production Engineering Department in Northern Area, Saudi Arabia to manage some of the world's largest off-shore gas lifted wells. Our production engineers manage unique well environments fitted with new technologies, specialized downhole equipment and surface production facilities.

This technical role requires proficient skills in well production utilizing gas lift and mastery/ advisory skills in design, installation, commissioning, operations, optimizations, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of gas lift systems both downhole and surface. This role will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice and guidance to the business in gas lift production.

This position is embedded within the Northern Area Production Engineering Department as part of the growing artificial lift sector of the organization. The incumbent will engage with leaders and experts from across the upstream business of Saudi Aramco.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following:

Design gas lift downhole systems, valves, surface equipment, and well completion

Determine the equipment sizing and metallurgy that is suitable for well conditions and operational requirements

Monitor, test, an optimize gas lift performance. Utilize software application for gas lift optimization.

Provide technical support on gas lift valves maintenance and calibration.

Provide consultation for offshore platform design and surface facilities for gas lift.

Design, review, and supervise well service operations of gas lift wells. Provide technical support for various well service and slickline operations related to gas lift

Evaluate well integrity of gas lift wells and provide recommendations for various well integrity challenges

Audit and witness equipment installation and field operations to ensure compliance and identify any deficiencies

Work closely with the field teams to plan, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor gas lift activities to ensure optimum well productivity and uptime

Evaluate, design, deploy, and assess new gas lift technologies

Candidates shall have the skillset of mentoring the young taskforce in gas lift operations

Candidate will be required to regularly go to the field for different gas lift operations such as commissioning, optimization, evaluation, and well service operations

Engage in technical studies and projects. Prepare reports and presentations as needed

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

BS degree in engineering, M.S. or PhD in engineering. Professional Engineer license or registration is also desirable

Minimum of 18-20 years of artificial lift experience including design, installation, commissioning, operations, optimizations, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of gas lift systems (downhole and surface). Technical publications are valued but in-depth practical experience is paramount.
Breadth: Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly with specialists in producing operations, reservoir management, well intervention, and drilling
Mastery skills level in the desired specialty
Demonstrated ability to apply industry standards in the specialty required
