JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

As the Head of compliance, you will partner closely with IWM Compliance officers in the ME&A region as well as Financial Crimes Compliance, ITS Compliance, and Group Compliance practice leads in order to deliver the compliance programme in Saudi Arabia (SAMA) and help to set up the Banking licence as well the Compliance department and capability function for KSA.

Description

* You will be responsible for leading a compliance department in the provision and execution of the Compliance function across all local businesses and divisions;
* Hold the position of Registered Compliance Officer and MLRO for the New Banking Entity with SAMA;
* Represent Compliance at the New Entity governance meetings and relevant risk and control forums;
* Lead and foster an open and co-operative relationship with SAMA and other local authorities, including the responses to regulatory enquires and the co-ordination of regulatory exams;
* Advise senior management, IWM, and ITS employees in their day to day business activities in relation to applicable local regulations and CS Group policies, procedures and standards.
* Develop and implement relevant procedures and policies to assist in the compliance role with regulations and laws as applicable.
* Educate employees through regular training and awareness sessions to promote compliance function with applicable laws, regulations as well as CS policies and procedures;
* Independently assess a Compliance Risk Assessment. Create and implement the compliance action plan and monitoring programmes established for the Entity.
* Investigate actual or potential breaches of law, regulation, policy and procedures in line with the Disciplinary Policy. Align with Central SMEs, discuss with FLDS/team leaders and report accordingly in ECASE. Escalate material compliance matters to MEA Compliance Head and Senior Management, where appropriate;
* Keeping CSSA up to date on any regulatory changes and raise awareness towards any gaps with CS processes and policies;
* Preparation of periodical reporting requested either by divisional compliance in London and Switzerland, Head of Compliance for the MEA region, and local authorities;
* Perform the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Entity, acting as a focal point for employees to escalate suspicions of terrorist financing or money laundering activities. Also, in partnership with Financial Crimes Compliance, assist the IWM and ITS businesses in the management of AML risks;
* Establish and maintain effective AML policies, procedures, systems and controls in compliance with applicable AML regulations and the organizations KYC/AML standards;
* Perform customer due diligence checks (KYC) on new clients as per CMA requirements and in accordance with firm wide AML standards;
* You would be expected to escalate appropriate AML risks/breaches to management;
* Assisting on New Business Projects related to business expansion in KSA
* Keep pace with developments in AML/CFT laws and regulations, trends, techniques, and update indicators of money laundering or terrorist financing
* Managing the relevant SAMA licenses processes and employee registrations requirements.
