JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Supervisor to join our dynamic team in the construction industry in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are met and maintained on site, promoting a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to effectively manage safety protocols and foster a proactive safety environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and international standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and assess risk, ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices, providing guidance and support to project teams.
- Lead safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors, ensuring everyone is informed about safety procedures and emergency response plans.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, compiling reports and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety into all phases of construction projects.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among all employees and stakeholders, encouraging open communication about safety concerns.
- Assist in the development of project-specific safety plans and risk assessments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.- A minimum of 7 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with all levels of staff.
- Strong leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to various construction sites as required.
