Responsibilities
Carry out the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance activities of a wide range of mechanical equipment in a safe manner in accordance with client policies and procedures and accepted technical standards.
Provide feedback and field updates to immediate supervisors and ensure all activities conform to client policies and procedures and accepted technical standards.
Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities as per prescribed schedules and task lists.
Troubleshoot problems, analyze root causes to avoid recurrence, and provide permanent solutions.
Conduct periodic testing, calibration, and functionality tests.
Follow the permit to work procedure of the client.
Ensure proper housekeeping while carrying out tasks.
Report any abnormalities in the system to the supervisor.
Actively participate in toolbox meetings.
Attend emergency call-outs as instructed by supervisors to minimize inconveniences to end users and damages to facilities.
Ensure the safety of equipment, facilities, systems, and personnel during maintenance activities and after restoring normalcy.
Contribute to the preparation of work reports, including daily reports, equipment failure reports, and incident/accident reports.
Assist in maintaining records and files of work performed, in progress, and completed.
Involve in commissioning activities of new projects.
Adhere to various ISO and safety standards accreditation and regulations of the department. Carry out audits and complete action points to conform to international quality and safety management systems requirements (ISO 14001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 270001, ISO 10015, CIPS, etc.).
Key skills
Knowledge of water-cooled centrifugal chillers, air-cooled reciprocating, scroll and screw chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, VRV systems, heat pumps, direct expansion units, precision air conditioning units, fume hoods, package air conditioners, split units, window air conditioners, deep freezers, central cold room/cold storages, cooling towers, building management systems, chillers system managers, PLC controlled HVAC equipment, electrical control panels - VFD and MCC of HVAC equipment, ducting, insulation, diffusers, IAQ - air quality checks, air balancing, and water balancing activities.
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex equipment.
Leadership qualities and a proactive attitude towards work beyond duty hours.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary (12 years) education, followed by at least 5 years of apprenticeship training leading to a certificate or diploma in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
At least 5 years of working experience in the mentioned key result areas.
Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand technical manuals.
Hands-on field experience in the oil and gas industry and facilities management is preferred.
Familiarity with technical standards and regulations.
Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office packages and emails.
