Overview

Aramco is seeking an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Specialist to join the Produced Water Treatment R&D Team in the Research and Development Center (R&DC) which is responsible for developing innovative technologies and processes for cost-effective treatment of produced and industrial wastewater to meet the company's industrial reuse and disposal requirements and minimize the company consumption of groundwater recourses. The Industrial Wastewater Treatment Specialist's primary role is to conduct pioneering research, introduce new technologies, and provide specialized technical services that will enhance Saudi Aramco profitability and productivity in a cost-effective, timely and collaborative manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop new, high quality Intellectual Properties and initiate new R&D projects regarding produced water treatment that fits the Company's future needs

Conduct pre-feasibility and full feasibility studies on novel technologies for produced water treatment, including those on oil-water separation, chemical precipitation, water chemistry, novel materials, membranes, and thermal systems as they apply to the Oil & Gas industry.

Provide expert assistance to in-house bench-scale, pilot, and demonstration studies on novel produced water technologies.

Identify and lead collaboration activities with reputed leading institutes/organizations in produced water treatment/utilization technologies.

Liaise with relevant internal organizations/committees to ensure in-house technology options are deployed as per schedule.

Effectively manage and collaborate with external entities and contractors for the execution of R&D projects and field trials

Serve, as needed, as Aramco's technical spokesperson on issues related to industrial and produced water treatment and utilization.

Provide technical expertise and assist in the decision making for Company projects in produced water treatment and water reuse.

Develop, as needed, standards pertaining to sampling, analysis and monitoring for water injection and reuse for different applications.

Serve as a technical expert and mentor for the produced water treatment team.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

Master degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with background on produced water and/or industrial wastewater treatment processes. PhD degree is preferred.

10 years of experience in R&D relevant to midstream crude oil treatment technologies.

Proven track record of creative contributions to industrial water technology development, preferably in the areas of oil-water separation, water chemistry, solids handling, desalination, and resources recovery.

Extensive scientific/technical authority and a broad technical credibility:
- Member of editorial/consultative committees of leading journals/associations related to industrial water treatment technology.
- Extensive publications and patents.

Experience in planning, initiating, guiding, and conducting advanced technical projects and developments with an ability to connect technology, R&D, and operational excellence.

Strong communication skills, including technical presentation and writing.

Vision, the energy, and the entrepreneurship spirit to develop new technologies and products.

Ability to work in team environment with strong people management skills and to energize and guide team members.
