JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose

Oversee the Building & Places team, monitor interior architecture designs progress, and plan and direct the scope of work for projects in design phases ensuring that works are executed by the consultants as agreed in terms of quality, standards, materials, schedule and cost in order to meet The Red Sea Development Company’s (TRSDC) business objectives and requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Contribution

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual business plan, and target and implement the strategic agenda of the Buildings & Places function to deliver TRSDC’s vision and mission.
• Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the Buildings & Places function and monitor the performance and execution of those plans to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company’s strategy.

Leadership

• Direct the activities of the project and interior architecture designs team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently in line with the strategic project management plans, policies, and procedures.
• Build and lead a motivated, engaged, and competent team by setting priorities and objectives, managing performances, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
• Serve as a role model to ensure employees’ awareness and commitment to TRSDC’s vision, mission, values, fundamentals, and corporate strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources and continuously improve performance.

People Management

• Supervise and evaluate employees’ performance with continuous feedback on their assigned targets and provide development opportunities to maximize potential and engagement of employees through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the identification of the respective employees’ training and developmental needs and bridge the knowledge gaps to ensure continuous progression and high-level of competence within the team.

Buildings & Places Management

• Oversee the preparation of tender documents, contribute in defining the design specifications of materials and the scope of work, and initiate the bidding process to appoint a contractor/consultants
• Develop a detailed deliverable schedule where the design managers define design phases as a road map for the consultants to lead them through the projects ensuring that time and cost are managed effectively and efficiently.
• Review and study detailed project design ensuring that the required technical details are obtained from the relevant functions to clarify technical aspects and materials used in the project and provide inputs to contribute towards cost planning.
• Monitor project progress through site visits and reviewing of reports from design managers to ensure that project implementation is progressing according to plan and that the development and engineering aspects comply with the tender documents.
• Review the progress of projects along with the cost manager and planning manager, and monitor and control projects against budgeted costs, quality, and schedule to ensure that the project specifications are aligned with tender documents.
• Manage relationships with the consultants and subconsultants, plan upcoming works, oversee the quality of work, and recommend appropriate design materials specifications to ensure that project delivery date and parameters are met.
• Manage the identification, assessment, and mitigation of different aspects of risks presented on the project to create preventative risk methods and avoid potential delays and added cost.
• Provide technical direction to the design management team, as needed.

• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the Buildings & Places function’s systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, business process improvement, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• AIA/RIBA certified or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum of (10) years of relevant experience.
• Able to move to Saudi Arabia
