JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job requirements:
We are looking for 15+ years of experienced EHV lead electrical engineer with proven experience in the design of extra high voltage (EHV) substations up to 380 kV for refineries, gas plants and GOSP, switchyard design, gas insulated substations (GIS) and distribution systems. Experience in engineering consultancy, EPC contractor and client domains with good knowledge of local Saudi Arabia standards, standards NFPA 70, NEMA, and IEC standards.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Feasibility study, FEED engineering and detail engineering services for EHV substations both GIS and AIS modifications in primary and secondary design and oil and gas plants electrical design power distribution systems.
- Preparation of sizing calculation for all EHV electrical systems such as power transformers, GIS gears, EHV cables, lightning and grounding systems.
- Preparation of GIS/Switchyard design engineering packages which includes overall single line diagram, relay and metering diagrams, logic diagrams, protection scheme, equipment drawings.
- Preparation of electrical MTO for complete GIS/AIS substations.
- Preparation of control and protection panel GA/Scheme, interconnection drawings for 69 kV, 115 kV, 230 kV AIS/GIS, transformers, MV/LV switchgear, etc.
- Preparation of MRs, TBEs, review and approval of all vendor drawings for all substation equipment, coordination with vendor.
- Review of technical offers for electrical equipment/packages.
- Coordination with project procurement team for equipment ordering for complete power plant.
- Estimation of design MHs for tendering purpose (including bid clarification preparation).
- Response to client comments on design submittals.
- Response to construction queries.

- Project managers, discipline manager and electrical group leads.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor of engineering/science in electrical and electronics engineering.
Key skills & technical competencies:
- Must be a reliable engineer who can work independently and able to lead and guide a team.
- Must be proficient in reviewing and preparing design drawings using Microstation.
- Knowledge of local Saudi Arabia standards is an advantage.
- Must have excellent knowledge and understanding of design practices, construction practices and procedures.
- Must be proficient in English; oral and written communication.
