JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Serco are seeking a Maintenance Technician - Fire Prevention - Success Profile to carry out fire extinguisher inspections and maintenance at King Fahad International Airport, Dammam - KSA.

Reporting to Fire Safety Operations Manager (FSOM) - Fire Prevention, working at King Fahad International Airport - Dammam, KSA, the accountabilities will be;

- Ensure the timely Inspection of all fire extinguishers and other fire safety related equipment at the client's premises.
- Carry out maintenance of fire extinguishers either at client premises or at designated Serco workshop within the KFIA premises
- Responsible for building and maintaining an asset list of all fire safety related equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining a log of inspection and maintenance activities carried out on all Fire Safety related equipment and facilities.
- Facilitate and attend formal and informal activities related to community fire safety within the airport.
- Competently carry out fire safety inspections of the premises to minimise risk to people, property and the environment.
- Responsible for submitting daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on Fire Extinguisher maintenance and Fire safety inspection activities for their line manager.
- Discuss any variations to maintenance plan with line manager, and incorporate mitigations to any operational risks.
- Maintain Serco's positive and professional image across all areas of the airport.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential technical and professional knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications

Knowledge

- Technically competent in maintaining Fire extinguishers of different make and different types. Understand Fire hazard identification and risk reduction through fire risk assessment.
- Technical diploma in Fire safety or equivalent - NFPA 10 is desirable.

Skills

- Strong service field orientation with a proven, demonstrable track record of, repairing and maintenance of fire prevention related equipment i.e. Fire extinguishers of different make and different types
- Experience of Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Hazard Inspection
- Ability to understand complex FP systems and possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to execute maintenance programs as per schedule.
- Able to react to fire emergency situations on basic fire safety approach.
- Have knowledge of working in an airport environment especially on airside and understand restrictions in apron area
- Preferably having a valid KSA (Saudi) Driving License
- Understands working with airport permits and possess good customer coordination and communication skills

Experience

- Well experienced and good understanding of the maintenance works related to fire prevention equipment, preferably in an airport environment or large public facilities
- Work experience in Fire Safety & prevention or equivalent field between 2 - 5 years
