JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Purpose
As a Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the overall mechanical design, specifications, and drawings, as well as working with other engineers and technicians to ensure the successful implementation of the design.
Key Accountability Areas
- Design mechanical system components with an understanding of building systems and equipment, building codes, and safety standards.
- Develop 2D & 3D drawings of HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, and drainage systems.
- Assist with preconstruction planning.
- Prepare plans and submittals for approval.
- Provide technical support during design, construction, and start-up phases of projects.
- Perform equipment and/or system hydraulic calculations.
- Assist with project field startup and commissioning activities.
- Perform system and equipment balancing.
- Assist with project bid packages.
- Perform system and equipment commissioning.
- Work with engineering staff and contractors to field test systems
REQUIREMENTS
Role Accountability
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school.
- 3-5 years' experience
- Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role
- Experience in HVAC design, including installation and maintenance.
- Experience in mechanical systems integration
- Experience in plumbing design and layout
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
