Responsibilities
- Lead project teams, work with, effectively delegate to, and coach junior team members to deliver effective results.
- Develop and manage mechanical engineering projects or design deliverables for assigned projects, including investigations, report writing, design, and construction administration.
- Support and lead business development activities for the mechanical engineering group in Vancouver, as a client-facing individual.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedule and budget for mechanical engineering design deliverables.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, and neatness of mechanical engineering and deliverables as part of the corporate QA/QC program.
- Perform site investigations safely including traveling to site (including driving), walking around construction sites, carrying a ladder or other items (approximately 35 lbs) around site, climbing ladders to access ceiling space, lowering self to observe mechanical services low to ground, and committing to safety regulations and requirements.
- Participate in local and corporate sustainability initiatives to positively advance both corporate and industry developments.
- Use software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, and Microsoft Office to prepare deliverables as required.
Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineer registered with EGBC.
- 8-12 years of relevant building systems design experience.
- Established reputation in the local buildings mechanical engineering industry.
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for buildings, including utilization of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
- Desire to grow career by progressively taking on more leadership responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and communication skills to develop solutions and communicate effectively with teammates, other disciplines, subcontractors, project managers, and clients.
