JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technicians and mechanics, providing guidance and direction in daily tasks.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities to optimize equipment uptime and minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance measures.
- Coordinate with production managers to plan maintenance activities around production schedules.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement corrective actions promptly to minimize production interruptions.
- Train and mentor junior staff in proper maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with procurement department to ensure timely availability of spare parts and materials.
- Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment.
- Monitor and control departmental expenses within budgetary constraints.
REQUIREMENTS
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanical foreman or similar role in the motors industry.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, gears, bearings, and pumps.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing repairs.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Understanding of safety regulations and procedures applicable to mechanical operations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
