Job description

The Air Quality O&M Technician will be responsible for the installation, calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of air quality analyzers and associated systems. The technician will ensure accurate, reliable, and continuous operation of air monitoring stations and analyzers in compliance with regulatory and QA/QC standards.

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems.
  • Skilled in electrical/electronic troubleshooting (boards, sensors, power circuits).
  • Familiar with pneumatic systems (sample flow, leaks, regulators).
  • Ability to use test equipment: multimeter, flow calibrator, gas calibrator, pressure gauges, gas cylinders/regulators.
  • Perform routine calibration of gas analyzers (NOx, SO2, CO, O3) and particulate monitors (PM10, PM2.5).
  • Perform daily/weekly operational checks of analyzers and stations.
  • Respond to emergency cases related to station failure or disconnect.
  • Monitor station environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, power supply, shelter systems).
  • Execute preventive maintenance including filter replacements, lamp servicing, pump overhauls, leak checks, and flow calibrations.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance and troubleshooting for electrical, electronic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Diagnose and resolve analyzer errors, alarms, and system malfunctions using diagnostic software and tools.
  • Learn and apply OEM procedures for calibration, QA/QC, and maintenance.
  • Ensure analyzers comply with international standards (EN, US EPA, QAL1) and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service logs, calibration records, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Utilize remote access tools (ENVEA Connect, XRu00ae software, web servers) for monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Assist in data validation and performance verification of analyzers.
