JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the heavy equipment rental operations in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring equipment availability, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role will be based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and offers an exciting opportunity to lead and grow within a dynamic construction environment.
- Oversee the daily operations of the heavy equipment rental department, including equipment maintenance, logistics, and customer service
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize equipment utilization and minimize downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for equipment operation and maintenance
- Manage a team of rental coordinators, technicians, and support staff, providing leadership, guidance, and performance management
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for equipment expansion and rental growth
- Maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of rental assets
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement
- Conduct regular inspections of rental equipment to ensure quality standards and readiness for customer use
- Handle customer inquiries, requests, and issue resolution to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Prepare operational reports, budgets, and forecasts for senior management review
- Proven experience (10+ years) in a similar role within the heavy equipment rental or construction industry
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment types, functionality, and maintenance requirements
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for equipment operation and workplace safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for operational improvement and growth
- Proficiency in using operational management software and tools for tracking, reporting, and analysis
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field (MBA or relevant certifications are a plus)
