Role Purpose:

The Procurement Engineer will investigate the market with specifications and plans, organize and undertake the sourcing activities for the Construction Projects including permanents materials and temporary works materials, in accordance with the terms, drawings, schedules. Site QNQC, safety and environmental procedures and time requirements within budgeted cost levels.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Identification of all requirements in requisition for purchase issued by the projects.
2. Receiving the price quotations. (Competitive quotes)
3. Preparing schedule of comparison.
4. Reiterating with suppliers for finalization of quantity and quality.
5. Establishing delivery terms, time and stages of inspection for the supply with Project Management Team.
6. Ensuring that all potential suppliers are provided with identical information upon which the quotations are given equal opportunity to meet the desired requirements.
7. Negotiating the best payment terms and contract conditions, maintaining a high level of integrity.
8. Keeping accurate records to justify the process and any other related decisions made.
9. Issuance of Purchase order.
10. Tracking and expediting of Shipment.
11. Handling Delivery and inspection of items and assisting in Insurance claims, if any.
12. Assisting in storage and handling on site, prior to use, during installation and commissioning and closure of any surplus/defective materials after the completion of the project.
13. Dealing with warranties and other related follow-up matters with the supplier till completion of Project.
14. Keeping updated with market developments and assisting in Vendor Development.
15. Reporting on budget versus Actual performance on project-wise basis
16. Participating in meetings between suppliers and Company engineers and other personnel to facilitate standardization and economical procurement.
17. Assisting in Tendering and Costing Department as required.
