JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee all aspects of our manufacturing operations. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless, efficient production processes that align with the highest quality standards. The Production Manager will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing daily production, developing and implementing best practices, and ensuring all operational goals are met on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include establishing effective policies to enhance productivity, managing resources, and ensuring customer requirements are met with minimal costs. Additionally, the Production Manager will handle risk assessment, perform root cause analysis, and facilitate cross-departmental communication to meet production targets consistently. This role also involves creating and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies to maintain a safe work environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Production Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, contributing to strategic initiatives, and supporting continuous improvement efforts to foster a culture of excellence.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree in manufacturing or engineering, with extensive experience in food production, ideally in the meat and poultry sector. A minimum of 20 years of hands-on supervisory experience in food and beverage manufacturing is required. Expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), lean manufacturing practices, and financial management, along with proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, is essential. Candidates should possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop a high-performing team that drives operational success. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, coupled with problem-solving and decision-making abilities, are also key.A background in regulatory standards like NEBOSH and ISO 22000, as well as a track record of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities, will be highly advantageous.
