JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our Global Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Project Director to lead their team in 2D and 3D Modular / MMC Delivery of mixed use and commercial assets of a major giga project in Tabuk, KSA. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Project Director managing large scale commercial and mixed use high rise building projects of at least G+60 in the GCC and a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Developer business.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity, employed by our client.
Key Responsibilities:
The Project Director - Commercial and Mixed use assets is responsible for overseeing and leading all pre and post construction activities for assets to be constructed that are predominantly 2D/ In situ construction delivery. This role will also focus on 3D MMC Modular assets ( excluding 3D MMC for Residential and Hotel) for those asset classes where 3D MMC are suited. These may include Office, Education, Health Facilities, Retail , F&B, Government Buildings and the like. This role will focus on 2D/In-situ installation of all Non 3D MMC Modular assets including commissioning for all assets across City Built Infrastructure. The incumbent will also optimize asset classes (other than Residential / Hotel) that would be suited to 3D MMC Modular delivery. Our goal being to minimize the extent of 2D / In-situ Construction works.
• Incumbent is thoroughly familiar with 2D platform construction for a wide range of asset typologies including Office, Education, Health, Retail, F&B etc.
• Demonstrable experience managing complex high-rise projects demonstrating technical expertise, strong leadership and meticulous planning to successfully deliver project objectives.
• Lead the development of work package plans to ensure key deliverables for leveraging modern methods of construction (MMC), align with the cost plan and programme objectives.
• Ensure design outputs align with the procurement and project execution strategy to procure supply chain ecosystems to manufacture core products into sub-assemblies that can be fully assembled into finished product locally in the 3D MMC assembly facility and/or onsite as required.
• Develop procurement execution strategies for work packages (suitable for 3D MMC Modular (other than Residential and Hotel) aligned to project deliverables and programme objectives, assessing commercial risks aligned to 3D MMC assembly, installation, commissioning, long lead procurement and whole life cycle cost.
• The role will involve developing detailed stakeholder management plans to identify, analyze and engage all key stakeholders and groups on a regular basis to manage expectations, objectives and outcomes.
• The role will foster a workplace culture that prioritizes compliance with company policies, procedures and project governance.
• Work closely with the QC/QA teams to ensure all QC/QA deliverables are in accordance with process, procedures and applicable standards using digital systems for inspection and test plans (ITP), BIM360 and COBie data.
• This role will be actively involved in both pre- and post-contract phases and requires the post holder to have experience in both phases.
• Provide leadership to engineers and project managers, mentor and guidance in support of project goals and objectives.
• Develop detailed pre and post project execution strategies focused on programme, cost plan and compliance with company policies, procedures and project governance.
• Ensure design and engineering development aligns with project execution and cost plans.
• Support the procurement process to ensure all project deliverables and works information meets the employer’s requirements and quality objectives.
• Oversee and manage risks using hazard identification to manage and mitigate risks in conjunction with the wider project team.
• Provide leadership to Project Managers and functional support teams through mentoring and guidance in support of project goals and objectives.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement through regular feedback and professional development.
• Support the Senior Director Common Assets to ensure 2D/3D delivery for residential and non-residential assets project execution strategy is effectively implemented.
Requirements:
Project Director Experience:• Engineering Degree in Construction or Engineering, having played a senior role in large multi-faceted complex projects.
• Minimum 25+ years of direct experience in construction/manufacturing large projects is required, with 10+ years of experience in project leadership roles.
• Demonstrable record in successful delivery of large complex projects as project lead/project director.
• Proficient in managing multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
• A self-motivated, proactive individual who leads by example.
• Initiative-taking leadership qualities, technical problem-solving skills through building stakeholder relationships.
• Delivery focused, strong ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives to project managers and engineers.
• Experience building and leading multidisciplined teams.
• Experience managing complex 2D platform construction or 3D MMC projects would be an advantage.
Salary:
SAR
75,000 to 85,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
