Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate complex environmental engineering design assignments entailing technical specifications and detailed planning.
- Recommend changes to specifications or environmental engineering design policy as appropriate.
- Implement safety engineering on the Benchamas Expansion project, detailed design close-out, and follow-on engineering, MFP Stage I close-out, MFP Stage II concept, FEED study phase, detailed design & follow-on, Malawan Central complex, concept and FEED study.
- Have a proven track record in hazard & risk management for oil & gas brownfield & greenfield developments.
- Identify the safety engineering scope of work from the basis of design.
- Determine and estimate norms to conduct the scope of work.
- Raise a suite of project deliverables including procedures, design basis, HES plan & schedules of activities.
- Network and inter-discipline departments. Interface management with the client.
- Conduct HAZID, HAZOP, hazard assessments, SIL assessments, design requirements for safety systems, and design safety reviews/studies, layout, EERA, ESSA, F&G, dropped object, hazardous area.
- Active fire protection design (or knowledge of) and passive fire protection design (or knowledge of).
- Implement hazard analysis studies, attend HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and conduct a full suite of safety reviews, SIMOPS, SIL, F&G, D.O., SCE impact assessments, engineering, close-out, and management of safety actions and safety concerns.
- Conduct ad-hoc jet fire and dispersion plume modeling, hazardous area classification, active and passive fire protection systems, escape routes, safety & emergency equipment, and safety signs.
- Quality assurance - responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the quality assurance system relevant to the business unit.
- Safety - responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the business unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
- Establish and maintain an awareness of HS&E across the discipline within the assigned project.
- Determine the major accident hazard events and apply a formalized approach of hazard management to identify and provide means of mitigation and reduction of such hazards. The chosen candidate shall also have the ability to take into account and have an understanding of well stream compositions and process systems.
Qualifications:
- Eng. degree or diploma in engineering or safety.
- Must have working knowledge and experience of environmental engineering concepts, strategies, and design. Specialized in at least one area of environmental engineering, with broad knowledge in other work-related areas.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 9000 and 14000 series and international standards relevant to the oil & gas industry.
- Ability to develop, update, and maintain in-house technical standards and specifications.
