Overview

We are seeking a Public Relation Specialist to join our Upstream Media & Content Group (M&CG)

The Upstream Media & Content Group (M&CG) is responsible for protecting the reputation of the Aramco's Upstream Business Line both internally and externally through proactive communications tailored to strategic imperatives. It also empowers its most senior leaders to push compelling messages, frame the agenda, and shape the debate.

Your primary role is to assist in the development and implementation of the Business Line's Integrated Communications and PR Strategy. This pivotal role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including strategic communications, stakeholder relations, PR, media relations, content creation, and as strategic support to Aramco's Upstream President and Upstream's Senior leadership. We are looking for someone with excellent writing skills covering both internal and external communication including speechwriting

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

• Produce strategic messaging at a business line level, and drive those messages through the company's communication channels to appropriate audiences.
• Develop Upstream positions and prepare communications plans to enhance the business line's reputation, while mitigating its risk exposure.
• Respond effectively to Upstream media enquiries in a timely, accurate and secure manner.
• Manage Upstream media relations, including proactively engaging with international and domestic media (via the appropriate approved Corporate channels).
• Assist in the creation of high-level Upstream content & copy (including but not limited to: op-eds, articles, by-lined features, social media postings, speeches, video scripts, presentations, roadshow materials, press releases, soundbites, and announcements).
• Compile board of directors' highlights, company briefings, and bespoke research.
• Advise Upstream leadership on communicating their programs and operations, and deliver counsel on any related public relations issues (such as speaking engagements and press interviews).
• Mentor and guide Upstream admin areas in the professionalization of their communications.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements

• As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications Science, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Political Science, or a relevant equivalent from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is desirable, but not essential.
• You will have ten years' experience in public relations, public affairs, journalism, or communications roles including at least five years in content development preferably for a large scale, well-established, international private organization or public institution.
• As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications Science, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Political Science, or a relevant equivalent from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is desirable, but not essential.
• You will have ten years' experience in public relations, public affairs, journalism, or communications roles including at least five years in content development preferably for a large scale, well-established, international private organization or public institution.
• You will be able to demonstrate a strong awareness of the principles of modern communications science, and proven excellence as a wordsmith and content creator.
• You must possess first-hand experience working with, C-suite executives / senior management, government officials, and/or a board of directors.
• You must be able to show masterful interpersonal skills, along with an aptitude for dealing positively and effectively with stressful and/or sensitive situations that require rapid reaction speeds, discretion, and diplomacy.
• Energy industry (especially the oil and gas sector), public company and international experience are all a plus.
